They return every year to give birth and then mate again for birthing in Samana the following year. And at any given time during their annual visit in late January and March, several hundred whales may be found in Samana Bay and adjacent coastal waters. After a private plane ride from Punta Cana Airport to Samana’s Arroyo Barril Airport, you will be transported to Samana Bay for your whale watching samana adventure!
The excursion continues to the tropical island paradise of Cayo Levantado. A delicious lunch is served on the island as you enjoy the gorgeous clear turquoise waters and smooth white sands. Once we return to land, we will continue our adventure on horseback as we travel to the renowned Limon Waterfall. This majestic site in the forest of Samana features waters splashing down 52 meters from the mountain river above.

You will spend approximately one hour on the island and another hour on the whale watch. The locals who tend the horses for the waterfall hike are from the nearby countryside.
